NCG Resources for US Census: How Funders Can Increase Grantee Participation

An accurate Census count is critically important in order to determine political representation and how billions of dollars are allocated to U.S. communities.

Unfortunately, many deserving people in our communitites go uncounted and unnoticed. All of us—foundations, nonprofits and individuals—can play a role in educating citizens about what the Census is and the safety of participating in it.

NCG, Bay Area Blacks in Philanthropy (BABIP) and Mitchell Kapor Foundation have collaborated with other local and national partners to promote funder awareness around 2010 Census activity.

Foundation Center Reasearch Advisory: Foundations Respond to Haiti

Shortly after the earthquake in Haiti the Foundation Center surveyed its Grantmaker Leadership Panel, made up of 225 foundation leaders, to “gauge the reaction of top U.S. funders to the unfolding crisis.”

The Foundation Center has published their key findings in a research advisory entitled Earthquake in Haiti: Leading U.S. Foundations Respond to the Crisis.
