Live Online Chat on the Outlook for Grantmaking in 2010

Monday, December 14th, 2009

Tuesday, December 15th 9 – 10 am PST (12 noon – 1pm EST), NCG Board member Chris DeCardy, Vice President and Director of Communications at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, and Steven Lawrence, Director of Research at the Foundation Center will share their observations and answer questions about the outlook for grantmaking in a live online chat hosted by The Chronicle of Philanthropy.

“Grant-Making Forecast: How Charities Can Make Effective Appeals in 2010 and Beyond” will focus on the continued effects of the economic downturn on the work of grantmakers.

As foundations cope with significant endowment losses, many are reducing their giving. How can charities appeal to grant makers during these tough times? How will grant-making priorities change in 2010? And which foundations are stepping up their efforts despite the economic downturn?
