An Introduction From Dion Ward: New Staff Liaison To NCG’s Corporate Members
I hope that 2011 has been going well for everyone thus far.
Hi. I’m Dion Ward, Program Specialist at NCG, and I am writing to convey how excited I am to help out in my new role as staff liaison to the Corporate Contributions Roundtable.
The new staffing arrangement will allow for my colleague, Program Officer Lauren Maher, to remain focused on her work with the Arts Loan Fund and Emergency Loan Fund, and to build NCG’s capacity to support other collaborative philanthropy efforts. I want to send a special thanks to Lauren for her past work with the Corporate Contributions Roundtable!
Many of you already know me, as I have assisted with some of NCG’s corporate programs since I joined the program team in mid-2007. Specifically, I have helped support international corporate grantmaking programs in partnership with the Council on Foundations. This drew upon my former experience as an Associate Program Officer at the International Community Foundation in San Diego, while completing my Masters in International Development. In addition, I recently assisted with the inaugural grant cycle of Full Circle Fund’s Global Economic Opportunity Circle.
Also, of relevance to corporate grantmaking trends, I have provided staff support to NCG’s Disaster Preparedness and Response Initiative work, and have contributed to the development of recent social media programming for our membership. Aside from working with our corporate members, I will continue to support development of NCG’s public policy programming and resources.
Currently, I am working with the CCR Steering Committee to plan this year’s Corporate Philanthropy Institute (a June date to be announced soon). I would appreciate hearing input from our corporate members on what would be the most helpful for you to get from this year’s CPI, and can be reached at dward@ncg.org or 415-777-4111, ext. 23. Thanks!
