This Thursday (and possibly subsequent ones) I’ll use the blog to post who we’re following on Twitter.
Here’s a sample of who NCG follows:
Bay_Area_UW
Also known as the United Way of the Bay Area. NCG member Bay_Area_UW recently used Twitter to share this tongue-in-cheek and informative mockumentary about “The Majestic Plastic Bag”–a video about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in the Pacific Ocean.
Check it out, it’s narrated by Jeremy Irons!
MedDemFund
I’ve got the issue of net neutrality on my radar and the tweets from the Media Democracy Fund are helping me keep tabs on the latest news regarding this issue. Here’s a recent tweet on the topic:
Excellent primer from @colorlines on basics of #netneutrality, Google’s proposal, and what it means for ppl of color – http://bit.ly/bF33Qm

Grantmaker Elizabeth R. Miller is a Senior Program Associate at The Overbrook Foundation and an active tweeter. Her interests in Media, Culture and Communications are evident in her tweets and re-tweets. For example:
Haven’t read this but irritated by title RT @kcambell Why are so many people in their 20s taking so long to grow up? http://nyti.ms/cSv5s8
If you read one book on nonprofits this year make it The Networked Nonprofit by @kanter and @afine. Finally finished it – excellent!
I often find myself musing over their tweets and reading the articles they share. This morning they announced that San Antonio, Texas, became that state’s 31st smoke-free city. As a Texas expat, I was intrigued, I didn’t even know that my home state had smoke-free cities.
And the following tweet got me to read an article about restaurants, out-door smoking and the effects on non-smokers:
New research shows that just 2 people smoking in an outdoor area can put non-smokers in danger: http://ow.ly/2okZ0
